LGPS (Miscellaneous) Regulations 2009 [SI 2009/3150]

The LGE/LGPC have written to CLG with comments on the LGPS (Miscellaneous) Regulations 2009 [SI 2009/3150].

The letter  includes comments on regulations 10 (Final pay: reductions), 12 (Power of employing authority to increase total membership of active members), 12A (Duty of employing authority to increase total membership: enhanced protection), 13A (Conversion of annual compensation into additional pension) and 14A (Election to pay additional contributions: survivor benefits) of the LGPs (Benefits, Membership and Contributions) Regulations 2007 which were amended or inserted by SI 2009/3150.

The letter comments on regulation 3 (Membership accrued before 1 April 2008: active members) of the LGPS (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2008 and regulations 24A (Payment of additional contributions: survivor benefits (ASBCs)) and 50A (Guaranteed minimum pensions) which were also amended or inserted by the SI.
