Event terms and conditions
Using the website to book an event online indicates that you accept these terms and conditions of use.
Reservation of events
You agree to the following when booking a Local Government Employers event:
- Booking of events is permitted up until 5 working days before the event. This is to allow us time to send the relevant confirmation papers (if applicable) before an event.
- Any cancellations not received prior to 14 days before the event will be subject to payment of a full fee. Substitute delegates are welcome if we are informed in writing at least 5 working days prior to the event.
- If you are added to the reserves list you will receive an email at the latest 5 working days prior to the event if a place becomes available. All delegates on the reserve list will receive an email and any extra places which are available will be bookable on a first come, first served basis.
- We reserve the right to amend or cancel your booking at any time. If your booking is cancelled we will refund any fees paid.
- It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to change the content, timing, speakers or the venue for this event. Please be advised that we cannot be held responsible for any travel costs incurred should an event be postponed or cancelled.
- Purchase order numbers must be provided with the booking if required by your organisation. It cannot be guaranteed that purchase order numbers will be included on the invoice if received at a different time to the booking.
- You agree to the disclaimer, copyright statement and privacy policy (links open in a new window).
- Delegates booking from outside the European Union are subject to the additional conditions below.
Delegates booking from overseas
Most events, conferences and training organised held by us will be of interest only to elected members and officers working in local authorities and related employers in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Interested parties from overseas who wish to attend a chargeable event as a delegate should note that full payment should be received by us at least 20 working days prior to the start of an event. In addition, for both free and chargeable events, overseas delegates from outside the European Union must supply written evidence to us that they have valid documents to enter the United Kingdom. Written evidence should be received a minimum of 20 working days prior to the start of an event. We shall not enter into any correspondence regarding requests for visa applications, nor contact on behalf of the delegates, the relevant high commission or embassy.
Written evidence should be emailed to info@lge.gov.uk, faxed to 020 7664 3030 or posted to Local Government Employers, Local Government House, Smith Square, London, SW1P 3HZ.
Our decision on whether a delegate can attend an event is final and the interested party will be notified of the decision.
Confirmation of your booking
You will receive an automated confirmation email as soon as possible following receipt of your online booking.
Revision of terms and conditions
We may at any time revise these terms and conditions without notice by posting changes online. It is the responsibility of users to review all this information at the time of booking. These changes will be effective and binding from when they appear on this site.
